Theatre has come a long way since this photo was taken in Ottawa in 1919!
And if dance workshops, studio tours, museum shows and other cultural activities are your favourite ways to relax on the weekend, do I have good news for you: Culture Days (September 25 to 27) is a cross-Canada celebration of all things artistic, with lots of activities in Eastern Ontario (and further afield) for you to check out.
For instance, my friend Katharine Fletcher—a talented writer and artist from Quyon—will be participating in a printmaking demonstration at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre (35 Stafford Road) from noon to 2pm on September 27. That event isn’t on the Culture Days site yet, but many, many others are, including everything from backstage visits at the National Arts Centre and a talk by Diefenbunker artist-in-residence Jesse Stewart to Legomania at the Pump House Steam Museum in Kingston, storytellers in Brockville and architectural scavenger hunts in Napanee.
Rather than using the search box in the top right corner of the website, you may have better luck searching by date and location using the advanced search function. Enjoy!
