Christmas craft fairs in Eastern Ontario, West Quebec and beyond

Yes, your house is still full of Halloween candy…but it’s already time for Christmas craft fairs! Seriously, they’re a boon for organized people who like to find unique gifts. And if you are really organized, you can use this handy list to plan multiple holiday shopping outings between now and December 25. Heck, you could go to a sale or two every weekend for the next two months.

The Salon des métiers d'art de Montréal is one of many craft fairs and artisan shows within an easy drive of Ottawa.

Here’s where to find pottery and carvings, soap and candles, knitted hats and crocheted afghans, and hipster artisan products of all descriptions in Eastern Ontario, West Quebec and upstate New York this holiday season. A number of the links lead to Facebook pages, as that is the only online presence for some of these shows. Happy browsing!

(P.S.: I’ll keep adding to this list as we get closer to Christmas, so keep checking back! And if you know of a fair that isn’t listed here yet, please let me know in the comments.)

I’m a little early with this but on Saturday, Jan. 20/2018 the tenth annual Living Locally Fair will run in Russell at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. The Living Locally Fair is a partnership event between the Russell & District Horticultural Society and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School which funs on a mandate of 50% food and farmers, 25% artisans and the remaining 25% being made up of community groups, health and wellness and environmentally friendly ideas. We have between 140 and 150 exhibitors. There is no charge to attend but non-perishable items for our local food bank are gratefully accepted. There is a light lunch of a fresh bun and soup or chili available. Plenty of fresh baked treats to finish up your lunch with or to take home.

Thanks for the info, Lindley! I’ll add it to my files for a weekly roundup in early 2018.

    HI Laura,
Every year Merrickville has their annual Christmas in Merrickville the first Saturday of December. and I will be holding my Merrickville’s Christmas Outdoor Makers Market that same day.
So lots to do. Cheers, Laura

Thanks, Laura! I’ll add the market to this post and put the Christmas in Merrickville event in a future post (I usually do a roundup of Santa parades, as well as the weekly road trip roundup).
