When you’re planning a road trip in Ontario, Quebec or the U.S. Northeast, it can be tricky knowing where to start your research. Of course, I always recommend this Ottawa Road Trips website as a great starting point, but local tourism boards and business associations are also great sources of information. They often have event calendars, maps, downloadable visitor guides, and links to attractions and accommodations.
Here are some of the sites I consult regularly. Note that the names of communities in parentheses are just some of the places these organizations represent, just to give you an idea of the general region you’re looking at!

Eastern Ontario tourism boards
- South Eastern Ontario (formerly called The Great Waterway, this is a regional site covering a number of regions between Prince Edward County and Cornwall)
- Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization (another regional site covering a large area west and southwest of Ottawa, including Lanark County, Frontenac County and the Ottawa Valley)
