Ottawa-area pumpkin patches to visit this fall

For many people, fall isn’t fall without a few cheerful orange pumpkins decorating the front step and a tasty pumpkin pie in the oven. Here are some pumpkin patches and pumpkin farms in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario where you can get your jack o’ lantern fix.

Kiwan Farms, Hunt Club

Hunt Club residents are lucky enough to have their own neighbourhood farm: They can pick up pumpkins and other produce from the Kiwan Farms stand at the corner of Hunt Club and Hawthorne roads. The farm’s pumpkin patch is open daily and there are all sorts of special events throughout the fall (check Kiwan’s Facebook page for event updates).

Saunders Farm, Munster

They take Halloween seriously at Saunders Farm! They don’t just sell pumpkins; they go all out with a daytime PumpkinFest and a nighttime Frightfest. During the day, family-friendly amusements include mazes, a haunted hayride, a zip line and much more. At night, older guests can scare themselves silly in haunted houses, and nosh on pizza, poutine, craft beer, the farm’s apple cider and other goodies. Both events run on selected dates from September 20 to November 1, 2025 (mainly weekends; Frightfest also runs nightly from October 22 to November 1).

Proulx Farm, Cumberland

Here’s another spot that celebrates fall’s giant orange gourds in style. Proulx Farm’s Pumpkin Fest runs on weekends from September 20 to October 26, 2025 (you can also make special arrangements to visit during the week), with mazes, a petting zoo, wagon rides, bouncy castles, a snack bar, picnic areas and other family fun. At the farm, you can buy other seasonal produce, maple products, honey, jam and more. On weekend nights from September 27 to October 31, 2025 (as well as Thursday, October 30), the farm is also home to the scary Skreamers haunted attraction.

Abby Hill Farms, Kars

If you’ve ever driven south on Prince of Wales Drive (Highway 16) in autumn, you’ve likely spotted the mountains of pumpkins in the field in front of Abby Hill Farms in Kars (at the intersection of Bankfield Road and Prince of Wales Drive). You can also buy lots of other fresh local produce, including apples and squash. Open seven days a week from 9am to 5:45pm.

Needham’s Market Garden, Arnprior

You can drop into the country store at Needham’s Market Garden (1335 Highway 29, Arnprior) to pick up pumpkins, as well as seasonal produce, fruit wines and other goodies—including jam, salsa, corn relish, pickled beets, honey and frozen pasties. The farm shop is open daily from May to November. Needham’s also participates in lots of farmers’ markets.

Geobern Farms, Lanark

You can pick up pumpkins at Geobern Farms, as well as check out a corn maze, enjoy a wagon ride, take a hike, visit with farm animals, buy maple goodies, and more. Open weekends in October.

Cannamore Orchard, Crysler

Cannamore Orchard (1480 County Road 32, Crysler) is a popular spot with apple lovers that is also a good spot for pumpkins and Halloween thrills. You can pick-your-own pumpkins on weekdays or buy one in the country market, where you’ll find fudge, pies, jam and other treats, too. On selected nights until Halloween, Cannamore runs a scarifying attraction called Acres of Terror, and you’ll need to buy timed tickets in advance for that.
