Wondering how to mark New Year’s Eve in Ottawa? Here’s the scoop on all kinds of end-of-the-year parties in Ottawa and beyond, including Eastern Ontario, Gatineau and the wider Outaouais. However you want to enjoy the occasion—with a bit of family fun, a concert, a masquerade party, or even a cooking or yoga class—here are LOTS of ideas for your Ottawa New Year’s Eve 2024!

New Year’s Eve in Ottawa 2024–2025

  • Hogman-Eh: This is the Scottish Society of Ottawa’a biggest party of the year. Modelled on Hogmanay, the traditional New Year’s Eve celebration in Scotland, it features pipers, dancers, bands, food, whisky and more. The main event starts at 4:30pm and runs until 1am. NOTE: It’s at a new location (the Infinity Centre) this year.
  • Noon Year’s Eve Midday Bash: Not a late-night type? You can ring in the new year early with an Elvis tribute at this afternoon event at Mr. Lucky’s at the Rideau Carleton Casino.
  • Dancing Through the Decades: This party at the Joint at the Rideau Carleton Casino will feature food, giveaways, free casino entry and music by Groove Marmelade.
  • New Year’s Eve Comedy Night: This is the 13th annual end-of-the-year comedy night at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Orleans. If you’re keen, I’d buy your tickets ASAP, as it often sells out. This year’s headliners are Heather Hurst, Anjelica Scannura and Frank Spadone. (P.S.: Heather is a friend of mine and she is awesome.)
  • A White Rabbit New Year’s Eve: The City at Night club in Centretown has a big celebration planned with house and tech-house spun by DJs Rick Laplante, Tone A, Brink and Madison.
  • NYE 2025 at The Show: VIP bottle service, party favours and 500 partiers are the recipe for New Year’s Eve at The Show club in the Byward Market.
  • New Year’s Eve Bash at Greenfields Public House: At this Barrhaven pub, you can book a table or plan to stand with general admission.
  • Shaken, Not Stirred: Organized by the Single Gourmet, this swanky event at the Sheraton Ottawa for singles 35 and over features cocktails, a four-course dinner, dancing, sparkling wine at midnight and more. Non-alcoholic beverage options will be available.
  • A Hip New Year’s Eve Bash: At Overflow Brewing, you can enjoy a buffet, music by Tragically Hip tribute band Little Bones, party favours and champagne.
  • Lowertown Keg Party: Champagne not your style? At Lowertown Brewery’s Keg Party, you can dance to hits of 2024 all evening and then raise a beer toast at midnight.
  • Funk Soul Disco Party: The Electric Company will be playing live for the crowd at the Rainbow Bistro in the Byward Market. Dress to impress with 1970s bling is the dress code.
  • New Year’s Eve Meditation: You don’t have to see out the New Year with a rowdy party! If you’re looking for something more serene, Sahaja Yoga is offering a free one-hour meditation session online, starting at 8:45pm.
  • Condor Lounge New Year’s Eve: At the Condor Lounge in Orleans, the fun will include live music, premium cocktails and a midnight toast.
  • Namaste 2025: Irish Hills Golf Club in Kanata is hosting a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration that starts at 7pm and includes a buffet, live music, face painting, balloon animals, raffles, VR cricket, dance performances, roulette and more.

  • Casino Lac-Leamy celebrations: The festivities at the casino include live music, a photo op at the main entrance and a midnight countdown. You can add the buffet at Banco for an extra fee. If you book a room at the adjacent Hilton Lac-Leamy or a buffet meal at Arôme for the night of December 31, tickets to the party are included.
  • Red Carpet New Year’s Eve Party: La Cocktailerie, on the second floor above Distillerie du Square in Chelsea, is throwing a Hollywood-style bash with dancing and fancy drinks.
  • The Village House: This Wakefield restaurant is offering an elegant New Year’s Eve menu, including vegetarian options. Choices include mushroom ravioli in truffle lemon cream and brown butter; duck confit, squash and goat-cheese pie; braised maple herb beef short rib; and apple-walnut butter tart.

Celebrate New Year’s in Eastern Ontario

  • Beckwith Township’s New Year’s Eve Family Fireworks: The family-friendly celebrations in Beckwith Park, on the edge of Carleton Place, will run from 4pm to 7pm. The fun includes a free skate, horse-drawn sleigh rides, a bonfire and food trucks; fireworks at 6pm.
  • New Year’s Eve Party with Eddy and the Stingrays: The festivities at the North Grenville Municipal Centre in Kemptville will include prizes, food, a cash bar, live music by Eddy and the Stingrays, and a midnight toast.
  • Frew Year’s Eve: This all-ages event is actually held on the morning of December 31 at the Ma-te-way Activity Centre in Renfrew. Free activities include ice skating, a continental breakfast, a magic show, a pizza lunch and a “noon year’s eve” countdown.
  • Glamour & Jazz: The Nevis Estate Boutique Hotel in Perth is throwing its first-ever New Year’s Eve bash. Your ticket includes a welcome drink, gourmet appetizers, live jazz, and champagne for the toast, and the dress code is glamorous black-and-white.
  • Brockville New Year’s Eve Church Concerts: Since 1991, a group of Brockville churches has celebrated the turning of the calendar with a packed night of concerts. This year, the music ranges from classical, bluegrass and Motown to jazz, Broadway standards and rock (one duo favours the music of U2).
  • NYE at Fat Les on King: Fat Les is throwing this New Year’s Eve bash at its new Brockville location (59 King Street West). Food, drink, music and dancing are all on the menu.
  • New Year’s Eve Variety Show: At La Maison Tavern in Cornwall, you can dance to live performances by The Penny Dreadful, Subtle, Castles, Seniorita Sin, Elite World Artist and DJ Twisted. Admission includes a snack and champagne toast.
  • K-Town Countdown: This free, family-friendly event at the INVISTA Centre in Kingston offers a huge range of activities for all ages, including a magic-and-comedy show, a DJ skate, a separate sensory skate (with dimmed lights and no music), face painting, do-it-yourself stuffed animals and more.
