Whether you want to practise your golf swing at TD Place, treat Mom to a play (and brunch) on Mother’s Day, enjoy a farm-to table dinner or save 50% on a new Ottawa walking tour, this week’s Heads Up post has the information you need.
Nab tickets for a May play in Osgoode
The ITR Theatre Company‘s next production will be The Cemetery Club (Friday to Sunday, May 3 to 12), a gentle comedy about three widows who meet for tea once a month. As well as evening shows and matinées, there will be a dinner show on Saturday, May 4, and a Mother’s Day brunch show on Sunday, May 12. Just an FYI: Tickets to the dinner and brunch shows often get snapped up quickly.
Get a jump on golf season at TD Place
The Links at Lansdowne (May 2 to 4) is a stadium golf event where you test your swing by teeing off from platforms located throughout the stadium to holes on the field. Bring your own clubs (see the website for rules and restrictions) for the nine-hole round. Tickets are available now.
Save 50% on the Haunted Walk’s Hidden Ottawa tour
If you like walking tours but are scared of ghosts, here’s good news: The Haunted Walk has launched a non-ghoulish tour focusing on downtown Ottawa’s secrets. The 90-minute Hidden Ottawa City Tour runs most Saturdays and Sundays. Bonus: You can save 50% if you book your tickets by Tuesday, April 30 (use the promo code “HiddenSecrets” at checkout).
For those who prefer their tours on the spooky side, The Haunted Walk has also launched a new immersive, paranormal adventure at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum this year. It’s available on Friday and Saturday nights. No discount on this one.
Sign up for a 100km dinner in Arnprior
Arnprior-area fine food purveyors Bee Savvy and Farmgate Cider are hosting an event called Buzzin’ in the Blossoms in Farmgate’s event barn on Thursday, May 9. Featuring meats, produce and other ingredients produced within a 100km radius of Arnprior, the evening will include cocktails, canapés and a multi-course dinner—as well as the chance to wander through an orchard of apple trees. If nature cooperates, the trees will be blooming.

Read raves for the renovated Le Centre Sheraton in Montreal
Le Centre Sheraton hotel in downtown Montreal recently completed a $50-million renovation, and one of the results was a trendy-looking new restaurant called Stanley. The Toronto Sun gives high marks to the renovation in general and the restaurant in particular, with kind words for Stanley’s focaccia, grilled octopus, steak and other dishes.
