Charleston Lake Provincial Park

Located between Lyndhurst and Lansdowne, Charleston Lake Provincial Park opens for the season today. With opportunities for swimming, fishing, boating and hiking, it’s a great day trip destination. If you want to camp, book a spot soon; they get snapped up quickly.

Farmers’ markets

The Perth Farmer’s Market and the Carp Farmers’ Market both open for the season this Saturday, May 9.

Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg opened for the 2015 season on Wednesday. On Mother’s Day, moms are admitted free and there’s a special menu at Willard’s Hotel. There will be celebrations of Queen Victoria’s birthday on May 16 and 17, while May 30–31 is Spring Planting Weekend.
