If you’re watching an American movie this December, don’t be surprised if the setting looks familiar; A Rooftop Christmas Tree has been shooting in and around Carleton Place, Pakenham and Almonte recently. The most familiar name in the cast is probably Tim Reid, who played Venus Flytrap in the classic TV series WKRP in Cincinnati, but Michelle Morgan from the Canadian show Heartland also has a role. The Millstone newspaper recently published an interview with Landria Onkka, the author of the book the film is based on. She’s pretty much over the moon about the fact that her debut book is being made into a movie.

It is shocking that the falls in Almonte are targeted by Enerdu, who wants to increase power output by reducing, building over and otherwise ruining the falls. The people of Almonte and other people who want to save this iconic and beautiful waterway are fighting desperately to keep Enerdu at bay.
