The forecast for Canada Day this year may be sultry, so grab your sunscreen, an umbrella and lots of water before heading out! Here are more than 30 places to celebrate our country’s birthday on Wednesday, July 1.
In the list below, all fireworks and drone shows are SCHEDULED for July 1 unless otherwise noted. Please note that fireworks will be CANCELLED anywhere where a fire ban is in place that day (and note that any fire bans apply to all fireworks, public or private).

Downtown Ottawa-Gatineau

As you probably know, downtown Ottawa-Gatineau is one of the best places in Canada to mark the country’s birthday. This year, the July 1 festivities will be taking place in several locations across Canada’s capital. A major focus will be LeBreton Flats, but there will also be activities on Parliament Hill, in front of the Supreme Court of Canada, in downtown Hull and elsewhere.
Here’s the scoop on Canada Day fun in downtown Ottawa-Gatineau. At LeBreton Flats Park, these include buskers, dance battles, mural painting, outdoor movies, line dancing, makeovers and more. The evening show will feature all sorts of acts from 8pm to 10pm, and a fireworks show will follow.
On Parliament Hill, highlights include the Changing of the Guard ceremony (10am to 10:45am), the chance to meet the RCMP Musical Ride Horses (11am to 3pm) and the Snowbirds’ aerial show (4pm to 4:30pm).
At the Supreme Court, you can take a yoga class, get creative at a craft workshop, see magic shows and more.
In the ByWard Market, the celebrations include a Back to the ’80s slate of live performances featuring Men Without Hats, The Spoons and The Box.
The City of Ottawa has a page of useful tips on Canada Day road closures and more. It also has a good summary of neighbourhood celebrations. OC Transpo is offering free service all day and has changes to some routes; see the OC Transpo alerts page for all the details.
Fireworks at 10pm at LeBreton Flats (good visibility from Place des Festivals Zibi in Hull, too).
Canada Agriculture and Food Museum
Family-friendly fun at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum on Canada Day includes maple milkshakes, funfetti cookies, crafts, games, screenings of the movie Fly Away Home (in French and English), animal demonstrations and more. Activities are scheduled for various times between 9:30am and 4:30pm. Admission is free, but there is a parking charge. This year, no advance tickets will be available online—it’s first come, first served.
Canada Aviation and Space Museum
Lots of special fun is planned for the Canada Aviation and Space Museum on Canada Day. Visitors will have the chance to get their photos with folks dressed up like Star Wars Stormtroopers, sit in a Cessna and learn about flight controls, try a flight simulator, see pros flying drones, and more. Free admission.

Orléans
Several Canada Day events are happening in OrlĂ©ans. The fun at the OrlĂ©ans Legion (800 Taylor Creek Drive) will include live music, a barbecue and a human slot machine (!) at various times between 11am and 5pm. At the Baitun Naseer Mosque in Cumberland (2620 Market Street), there will be a free barbecue and kids’ entertainment from 11am to 1pm. And at Queenswood Heights Centennial Park (1485 Duford Drive), you can enjoy music, a barbecue, raffles, games, bouncy castles and more between noon and 8pm.
Kanata
Canada Day in Kanata at Walter Baker Park (100 Charlie Rogers Way) will feature a family fun zone, live music, a midway, Vietnamese line dancers, princess parties, a citizenship ceremony and a vendors’ market. Here’s the FAQ page. Fireworks at 10pm.
Stittsville
Canada Day in Stittsville celebrations will take place on the grounds of the CARDELREC Recreation Complex (1500 Shea Road) on Wednesday, July 1, starting at 4pm. The fun will including aerial, dance and musical performances.
Barrhaven
Canada Day celebrations in Barrhaven will be happening at Clarke Fields Park (93 Houlahan Street), and it’s a multi-day celebration. On Tuesday, June 30, there will be a classic car show, zumba and yoga classes, and a country music festival.
On Canada Day itself, the fun starts early with a seniors’ breakfast (9am to 10:30am). There will also be a kids’ zone, food vendors, a parade of flags, a multicultural show, free birthday cake and live music. Due to limited parking at the park, you’re urged to take the shuttle running from the Heart & Crown and McDonough’s Independent Grocer on Canada Day only ($2 per person or $5 per family for the round trip). Fireworks at 10pm.
Osgoode
Canada Day events in Osgoode will take place in several locations across the village. The fun is set to include a parade, food trucks, a bike decorating contest, magic, a kids’ zone and live music. Fireworks at the Osgoode Community Centre at 9:30pm.
Greely
In Greely, the hub of Canada Day festivities will be the Greely Community Centre (1448 Meadow Drive). The family-friendly party starts at noon and features a petting zoo, a scavenger hunt, a bike decorating contest, a beer garden, live music, a vendor market, a vintage car display and more. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Fireworks at 10pm.
Vars
Vars is marking Canada Day with festivities at Alcide Trudeau Park (5717 Rockdale Road). Activities will include volleyball, face painting, kids’ crafts, bouncy castles, a magic show, a woodworking workshop, a magic show and live music. Fireworks at 9:30pm.
Wakefield
In Wakefield, the Canada Day celebrations include a parade, a cookie contest, snow cones, a candy shop and a barbecue,
Mont Tremblant
Canada Day at Tremblant will amuse visitors in the afternoon with face painting, giant games, a flag raising and live music.

Arnprior
The hub of Arnprior’s celebrations has changed this year. Due to construction at the usual venue, Robert Simpson Park, the new venue is Hydro Park East (70 Madawaska Boulevard). Canada Day fun there and elsewhere in Arnprior ranges from a pancake breakfast and a bike parade to a duck race and a strawberry social. Details are available via the link above. Fireworks will be set off at 9:45pm from an island near the Madawaska Bridge; Hydro Park East will be the best place to see them.
Renfrew
Canada Day celebrations in Renfrew will take place in Ma-Te-Way Park (1 Ma-Te-Way Drive) from 10am to dusk. Amusements will include live music, bouncy castles, games, a classic car show, food stands, an Indigenous artisans show, a free barbecue (starting at 5pm and available while supplies last) and a beer tent. Times for each activity vary; check the link for details. Fireworks at dusk (approximately 9:50pm).
Eganville
Festivities for the Township of Bonnechere Valley are taking place all over Eganville on July 1, including the Bonnechere Museum, the Eganville Arena and Rotary Beach. You can celebrate Canada Day with a pancake breakfast, cupcakes, cardboard boat races, a duck race, live music and more. Drone show at Rotary Beach at 10pm.
Pembroke
The Canada Day festivities in Pembroke in Riverside Park begin the day before a free barbecue, bouncy castles, free T-shirt tie-dyeing, a magic show, live music and an outdoor screening of Zootopia 2 with free popcorn. On Canada Day itself, events will be taking place in two venues—Waterfront Park and Riverside Park. The fun will include a reptile show, craft and food vendors, bouncy castles, free boat rides, the Great Maple Cookoff, a magic show and live music. Fireworks at Riverside Park at 10pm.
Petawawa
Petawawa is marking Canada Day with an afternoon of free activities at the Petawawa Civic Centre (16 Civic Centre Road) from noon to 4pm, featuring a slip ‘n’ slide, a barbecue and bouncy castles.
Wilno
Wilno is marking Canada Day with live music at Heritage Park from 11:30am to 3pm.
Kemptville/North Grenville
North Grenville’s extensive Canada Day celebrations will be centered on the Royal Canadian Legion (100 Reuben Crescent) and adjacent Riverside Park in Kemptville. Amusements include a breakfast, bouncy castles, food and craft vendors, a beer garden, bingo, a bubble-zone dance party, a teddy bear’s picnic, live music and more. Fireworks in Riverside Park at 10pm.
Oxford Mills
Free Canada Day festivities in Maplewood Park (Maplewood Avenue) from 11:30am onward include face painting, lawn games, a flag raising, and music by the Legion Pipe Band and three other live musical acts. Barbecue goodies and cupcakes will be available, too. Only handicapped-accessible parking is available onsite, so visitors are advised to park at Crozier Park and walk to Maplewood Park.

Carleton Place
Canada Day activities in Carleton Place start at 1pm at Riverside Park (179 John Street) and include live music, bouncy castles, kids’ crafts, soccer fun, and food and beverage vendors. Note that there is no on-site parking. You can take advantage of free shuttles from the Carleton Place Arena and Market Square Pavilion to Riverside Park, as well as a new bicycle valet service that keep your two-wheeled transport safe. Fireworks start at 9:45pm.
Almonte
Almonte is celebrating Canada Day with a day of activities at Gemmill Park (182 Bridge Street), starting at 3pm. There will be bouncy castles, live music, face painting, games and more. Fireworks at dusk.
Pakenham
As usual, Pakenham is getting a jump on the festivities with Canada Day Eve celebrations—a parade, along with face painting, live music and a barbecue—at the Stewart Community Centre (112 Macfarlane Street) on Monday, June 30, starting at 4:30pm. Fireworks start at dusk ON JUNE 30.
Perth
In Perth, the hub of activity is Conlon Farm Recreation Complex. The canteen, splash pad and playground will be open all day, with the added Canada Day fun starting at 4pm. Enjoy a magic show, face painting, kids’ crafts and games, and live music. Fireworks at 10pm.
Smiths Falls
Canada Day celebrations in Smiths Falls are taking place in Lower Reach Park (Old Slys Road), beginning at 11am. They include a food and vendors market, a bike parade, a sensory play area, a zipline, a Canada Day Idol competition, a beer garden and live music. Note that Smiths Falls is also hosting its monthly Bike Night on Canada Day. Fireworks at dusk.
Merrickville
Merrickville’s Canada Day activities include a parade starting at Hilltop Manor at 11am, followed by a cake cutting, a barbecue lunch and live music at Blockhouse Park (279 St. Lawrence Street) until 4pm.
Eastons Corners/Jasper
The Canada Day celebrations in Jasper will centre on Eastons Corners Centennial Hall (43 Park Street, Jasper), from 4pm to 6pm. Come enjoy a parade, cupcakes, face painting, bubbles and a barbecue.

Westport
Canada Day celebrations in Westport are scattered across several sites and include a wide range of activities, including a barbecue breakfast, nature hikes, a bike parade, helicopter rides, bingo, a touch-a-truck event, a fish fry and live music. Fireworks at the Legion at 10pm.
Lombardy
You can tuck into a Canada Day Pancake Breakfast at the Ronald E. Holman Municipal Complex (441 Highway 15) from 8am until 11am (or until the food runs out).
Newboro
Newboro will celebrate Canada Day at the Newboro Community Hall (15 Drummond Street), from 4pm to 7pm. The fun will include a parade, live music, a petting zoo, birthday cake and a barbecue.
Kingston
There will be a lot to enjoy in Kingston on July 1 in multiple locations, including an Indigenous welcome, a rock-climbing wall, bouncy castles, magic shows, live music, dance workshops, food vendors and a beer garden. Fireworks at Confederation Park at 10pm.

Brockville
Brockville’s Canada Day commemorations will start with a parade to Hardy Park at 11:45am. The fun at Hardy Park from noon to 4pm will include bouncy castles, live music, face painting, summer curling, boat rides, a beer garden, food vendors and (at 12:15pm) a tall ships demonstration featuring the Fair Jeanne. Fireworks off Blockhouse Island at 9:45pm.
Prescott
Canada Day festivities in Prescott will be spread across multiple locations, including Fort Wellington (370 Vankoughnet Street), Centennial Park (190 St. Lawrence Street) and the Prescott Pop-Ups site (191 Water Street East). You can enjoy dog fun from Canine Watersports Canada, along with a parade, cupcakes, a cannon firing, live music, vendors’ markets and more. Fireworks on the waterfront at dusk.
Morrisburg
In Morrisburg, Earl Baker Park (21 Sir James Morris Drive) is the hub for Canada Day activities, which include a petting zoo, bouncy castles, bingo, yoga, pony rides, food and drink vendors, helicopter rides, a chicken barbecue, live music and more. Fireworks at 10pm.
Long Sault
Long Sault’s Canada Day activities will take place at Arnold Bethune Park on Simcoe Street, from 11am to 7pm, and at the Lost Villages Museum (16361 Fran Laflamme Drive) from 10am to 3pm. You can mark the day with face painting, a reptile show, a slime pit jump (!), bouncy castles, kite flying, food and drinks, carnival games, and lots more. There will also be a special Canada Day scuba dive and barbecue at Lock 21. Fireworks at dusk, on the waterfront across from Long Sault Plaza.

Cornwall
The fun in Lamoureux Park (100 Water Street East) starts with opening ceremonies at noon and continues all day, with food trucks, a kids’ fun zone, a drum circle, a vendor market, a beer garden and lots of live music—with headliner David Wilcox taking to the stage at 8:30pm. A free shuttle bus will bring people to the park throughout the day. Fireworks at 10pm.
Lancaster
Lancaster’s Canada Day celebrations are taking place at Smithfield Park (34 MacDonald Street), with a mini-putt contest, Nerf battles, a bike parade, live music, kids’ games and a vendors’ market. Fireworks at 10pm.
Martintown
The Martintown Community Centre will be giving out free chips and drinks before setting off fireworks (rain date: Thursday, July 2). Fireworks at dusk (approximately 9pm).
Avonmore
Avonmore is marking the day with a Canada Day Breakfast at North Stormont Place (16301 Fairview Drive) from 8:30am to 10:30am.
Chesterville
You can see fireworks at North Dundas District High School (12835 County Road 43). Fireworks at 9:30pm.
Moose Creek
The packed day of events at the Moose Creek Community Centre (1 Munro Street) includes volleyball and cornhole tournaments, a bike parade, bouncy castles, fire trucks, and wildlife and magic shows. Fireworks at 10pm.
Alexandria
On July 1, the Alexandria Lions Club Canada Day Parade will work its way through town from noon to 2pm.

L’Orignal
L’Orignal Park and Beach (772 Front Street) is the site of l’Orignal’s Canada Day festivities, which actually run for two days—June 30 and July 1. On the evening of Tuesday, June 30, there will be a beer tent, food and live music, starting at 7pm. On Canada Day itself, the family fun goes from 11am to 5pm and includes a water slide, bouncy castles, food, face painting and more. Fireworks on the river ON JUNE 30 at 9:30pm.
Lefaivre
Lefaivre is celebrating Canada Day at Riverside Park (1965 Lajoie Street) with face painting, bouncy castles, food stalls, a bar, live music and more. Fireworks at 10pm.
Rockland
Canada Day fun is part of the longer Clarence-Rockland Festival at Simon Park (1450 du Parc Avenue, Rockland). On Canada Day, there will be inflatables, a car show, miniature car races, a horseshoe tournament, soccer watch parties and lots of other family-friendly fun. Fireworks at 10pm on July 1, followed by a DJ dance party.
Russell
Canada Day events in Russell are taking place mainly at the Russell Fairgrounds (1076 Concession Street) and will include face painting, a giant sprinkler, bouncy castles, a food truck and live entertainment. There will also be a free pancake breakfast at the Russell Legion, starting at 9am. Fireworks at Russell High School (982 North Russell Road) at 10pm.
Montreal
The main celebrations are happening on Canada Day in the Old Port from 11am to 8pm. Thrill to a 21-gun salute, see a citizenship ceremony, let your kids burn of steam in the kids’ zone, join a giant foosball game, catch a concert…that’s just the start of the list.

KANATA always has a great celebration with fireworks second only to Parliament. Includes bandstand, rides, Waterpark, huge gazebo by a cattail pond, and sunsets all at Walter Baker Park beside the Kanata Recreational Centre, Terry Fox Drive near Hazeldean.
